It Is Possible

A lot of times, we tend to think otherwise when we are faced with seemingly impossible situations. We are quick to look at those we can blame or situations and circumstances we can point our fingers to as the cause of our predicament. Sometimes, we look at our past mistakes and don’t seem to ever forgive ourselves for the ‘silly’ and ‘unpardonable’ mistakes we made either out of ignorance or stupidity.

Sometimes ago, I questioned myself if I would be able to graduate from the university after I had left school without any meaningful conclusion of my course of study in 2007. I wondered if I would ever put on the NYSC uniform. When I see people with the NYSC uniform on, I would say within myself, ‘this is the cloth they (I mean the battles waging war against me) don’t want me to put on.’

However today, my story is different and I look forward to my youth service with confidence and assurance that I will fulfill God’s destiny for me there. I don’t know if you’ve felt that something rightly belonged to you yet you are unable to get it. Deep within you, you know it is your right, your inheritance, your portion yet you are being deprived of it by unseen forces, by situations and circumstances beyond your control. I want to tell you, IT IS POSSIBLE FOR YOU TO GET WHAT RIGHTLY BELONGS TO YOU! In Psalm 78:19, the Israelites murmured against God thus; ‘Yea, they spoke against God; the said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?’ This was a groaning of their heart.

Yes, they expressed their fear in a wrong manner but there is something that underlined their murmur which is, IS IT POSSIBLE FOR GOD TO PROVIDE FOOD FOR THEM IN THE WILDERNESS WHERE THERE WERE NO TRACES OF FOOD INGREDIENTS? Peradventure you have also questioned and even accused God of being silent over your case. My friend, know this today and let it sink into your self; WHATEVER YOU ARE PASSING THROUGH IS NOT GOD’S FAULT. SIMPLY PUT, GOD IS NOT AT FAULT FOR YOUR CALAMITY.

You are where you are today either through your ignorance or the reaping of the consequences of your evil actions or that of your ancestral lineage. My message however to you today is this; IT IS POSSIBLE! It is possible to live a new life! It is possible to be genuinely born again! It is possible to live a holy life! It is possible for you to make heaven! It is possible to become what God originally destined you to become! It is possible to move from a mediocre position to a position of superiority! It is possible to be the head and not the tail! It is possible! I’m not writing this piece to motivate you, not at all. I am stating the fact of the scriptures ‘For with God, NOTHING shall be impossible.’ Luke 1:37 Are you about giving up hope? Are you about giving up on your God-endowed dreams and visions? Are you about quitting and leaving everything you have worked for right from the beginning of your life? Where you are today is nearer your GLORY than you have ever thought.

DON’T GIVE UP, IT IS POSSIBLE! I am a testimony! If I can graduate from the university after 11+ years, then you can graduate from any university of problems the enemy has admitted you into.

You Are Responsible

Looking closely at the mirror clearly reveals who is responsible for the kind of life you live right now - yes that’s you! Your behaviour, relationship, wealth, health, attitudes, debt, income, e.t.c are all created by you. Though it is said that external factors determine the way you live your live, the truth is that you and only you are in total control of the quality of life you live. Now is the time to sit down and take a stock of all you have created in your life and decide what is working and what is not. 

Of a truth, there are lots of good things happening in your life such as your income level, your children, your job, your sponse, your grades, e.t.c. Yes, congratulate yourself on these successes of yours made possible by God with you actively involved. Take a look also at all the things that are not working out so well. You then need to ask yourself these question, ‘What am I doing or not doing to create these ugly experience?’ You don’t need to blame any outside factor for the unhappiness you are experiencing. 

Once you discover and realise that you are the one in charge of the experiences you create, you’ll also realise that the power to un-create them and create any new experience you desire lies in you. Note: You must take total responsibility for bad and good times, failures and successes, unhappiness and happiness. The moment you stop blaming others or your environment, you can harness that energy and refocus it to create a far better situation for yourself. You also need to stop complaining. 

Take a careful look at what you are complaining about - it, you’ll observe that it is something you can do something about. STOP COMPLAINING! Complaints ‘eat up’ your energy. Embarking on a change to positively alter your situation might be difficult. It might imply that you need to put in more effort, money and time. It could also mean that someone gets offended about it! The end justifies the means. Face the incontrovertible fact that you can do something about your present situation. People who make it in life take 100% responsibility for their thoughts, actions, the images they visualize, the kind of company they keep and a whole lot more. 

They don’t sit down there whining and complaining about their situations. Once they sit down to evaluate their lives and discover changes need to be made, they go ahead with it. They face head-on, the uncomfortable and plunge into risks so that they can create the kind of life they want to live…they don’t sympathize with themselves. 

Taking responsibility for your life implies three things; - Believing that you are responsible for all that happens to you - Paying close attention to yourself, your attitudes and the experiences you face in life - Facing the truth and dealing with whatever is not working in your life.

Conclusively, you must be willing to change your behaviour in order to experience a different outcome. It is insanity to keep doing the same thing over and over again and thereafter experiencing a different or better result. Commit to taking 100% responsibility for all that happens to you in life.

Salvation: The Restored Hope

In the beginning, God created man to serve Him - His creator. In the beginning, God created man to live a life of comfort, free from stress and distress. In the beginning, God gave man the opportunity to be what He (God) wanted him to be. In the beginning, God made available everything man needed at his disposal. In the beginning, God gave you the right to be what He had destined you to be.

Man was however deprived of that right at the fall in the Garden of Eden. Thus, you and I were stripped of our divine rights. Adam at the beginning also lost his divine inheritance, so also have you and I lost it. Could man ever regain his right to his inheritance? Would man live to be what he had been destined to be? So also you ask, can I ever be what I know I should be? Will I ever fulfill my destiny?

Salvation, yes salvation! Salvation brought renewed hope. Salvation gave back to man the life he lost at the beginning. It brought about a new beginning. Salvation became the genesis of mankind; a new foundation laid! Salvation is THE ONLY KEY TO FULFILLING YOUR DESTINY!

Your life only begins at salvation. Your life is renewed and handed the baton of hope and glory when you accept the sacrifice wrought by JESUS CHRIST, the Son of God who started another genesis of hope for you and I. Friend, your life hasn’t begun at all. It only begins when you accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour. Why not allow him into your life you so much crave for?

When you wander aimlessly through life, you will still go back to God your creator after death with detailed explanation of how you spent or invested the precious life He gave you here on earth. Whatsoever it is you do now – don’t think it will ever be forgotten. There’s a book of records kept in heaven about your every action. More importantly, an angel accompanies you every time, always writing down in details all you do at every point in time. So, nothing you do is hidden.

When you appear before God, what will be the account you will give to Him? The ball is in your court. Will you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour? THE TIME IS NOW!

THE JOY OF SETBACKS

Sometimes in life, we come across potholes, obstacles, challenges that seem so overwhelming and threatening to veer us off the path of our vision and goals. We tend to give up and throw in the towel. We lose focus, we are destabilized, we are disoriented, we are confused and ultimately down tool on our dreams.

However, setbacks are part of life. They are meant to serve as checks and balances to see where we have gone wrong. Setbacks help us to re-strategize, re-focus and re-double our efforts in order to move forward. Setbacks are not meant to set us back, they are meant to serve as springboards for re-launch of our dreams and visions.

Anyone who does not experience setbacks in life can never understand or feel the joy of conquest.

Setbacks are necessary, they are important and useful to the realization of our dreams in life. The major thing we have to do is to ensure we 'imbibe' the right attitude. Setbacks can be seen by different people in different ways due to each person's 'frame of reference' comprising experiences, culture, religion, personal opinion and the likes.

Whatever your frame of reference, setbacks can either make or mar your progress in life. You however have the power to decide what you make out of every setback.

The ball is in your court!

The Manifestation of the Sons of God

What does it mean to manifest? To manifest means to show forth, to reveal. The manifestation of the sons of God therefore means the showing for/the exhibition revealing/revelation of the sons of God.


Who are the sons of God? These are people (both made and female) that are recognized by God as his children. These are people who have forsaken the love and lust of this world and have determined to pitch their tent with Jesus Christ, the only forgotten son of God.

What are you presently doing with your life as a child of God? What are you manifesting? Are you revealing what God has asked that you reveal to the world through that book, song, article/write-up, word of encouragement, sermon, hour of evangelism, waiting upon Him?

Sons of God, arise to the responsibility your Father has given you for the whole world awaits your manifestation. They await that song to wipe away their tears. They await that write-up to encourage them in the daily journey in life. They await the smile and hope that emanates from the one-on-one words of encouragement.

Sons of God! Arise to your responsibilities for God and indeed the whole world awaits your manifestation.

The Power of Sleep

Sleep as we all know is good for the body. Sleep enables you to rest from your daily activities, relaxes your body, refreshes your brain, and generally refreshes and prepares you for a new day. 8-10 hour sleep is recommended as appropriate for an adult.

However, sleep is a major inhibiting factor to success. How can this be? How can a supposedly good thing be a hindrance to another good thing? Friend, you’ve got to wake up from your sleep. If you are to become a truly successful and fulfilled person in life, then you have to minimize the number of hours you sleep. Yes, you have to minimize the number of hours you spend sleeping.

It is said that “While their mates slept, great men toiled at their experiments and came out with inventions that change the world.” Look, if you sleep for 8hrs/day, it means you have spent one-third of your life sleeping on that particular day.

Let’s take a look at this simple arithmetic. We want to consider the life of a man who slept for 8hrs/day from the age of 20 to 50. So, we are taking into consideration, 30yrs of his life.

Recall that:

1yr = 365 days
30 yrs = 30 x 365
= 10, 950 days

Since the man slept for 8hrs in each day, it therefore means that the total no of hours he slept in 30yrs (10, 950 days)

= 8hrs x 10, 950 days
= 87, 600 hrs

We therefore want to know the equivalent of the number of hours he slept in days.

Recall that:
24hrs = 1 day
87,600 hrs = 87,600hrs/24hrs
= 3, 650 days

It means the man slept for 3, 650 days out of the whole 10, 950 days.

Let’s do this last calculation.

Since 365 days = 1yr

Therefore,
3,650 days = 3650days/365 days
= 10 years.

From the above calculations, it shows that out of the 30yrs of the man’s life taken into consideration, he has spent 10yrs sleeping. Don’t be amazed! Your case is even worse than him. If your own life is taken into consideration, only God knows how many years you would have spent sleeping. Friend, it is time to deny the eyes of sleep. You’ve got to remain dogged and determined to reach the end of your goal. It however takes the “abundant grace of God” to be able to accomplish this. Your power can do but nothing. You need to rely on God to enable you crucify sleep on the altar of grace.

Sleep is a killer of destiny and glory. No matter the volume of potential that resides in you, once you are sold out to sleep, you can never and I repeat, you will never amount to anything in life. Proverbs 20:13 has this to say about sleep - "Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you shall be satisfied with bread." (American Standard Version). Sleep can become a curse rather than a blessing..

Proverbs 6:9-11 reads, "How long wilt thous sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man."

If sleep takes hold of your life, you are done for! So many people are under the excruciating pains of the arrow of the enemy fired into their lives to make them sleep anytime, anyday. The enemy knows that if they are awake, they will strive to fulfill their destiny. Another area where the enemy is cheating us as children of God is in the area of waking up in the middle of the night to rise up and pray. The bible says; 'when man slept, the enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.'

If you are a child of God and you find it difficult to rise up and pray in the middle of the night, you have made yourself a cheap article in the hands of the enemy. The enemy will plant things God never planted into your life and make you a laughing stock in the eyes of everyone that sees you. Why are you where you are? It's simply because you love sleep, it's because the arrow of sleep shot by the enemy has settled comfortably in your life.

Do you want to be free? Yes, you can be free if you will be willing and ready to pay the price....

Forgiveness: An Attitude To Be Imbibed

When last were you wronged; yesterday, today, last week, last month, last year, two tears ago? The list is endless. However the question is; have you forgiven whoever offended you? We hold unto the pains of the past, the agony of failed relationships, the back-stabbing by friends so dear and close to you, the mishaps, etc all caused by somebody else.

Forgiveness is a virtue we must have in our lives if we are to move on. Forgiveness is what erases the memory of the past and gives us a new lease of life. Forgiveness gives us the go ahead to make new commitments (though with caution), discover new things explore new opportunities, break new grounds, open closed doors and finally fulfill our destiny.

No one in this life will truly move forward without having to forgive himself/herself of the mistakes he/she had made in the past. Don’t blame yourself again for your present predicament. Forgive yourself and move on. Do no more damage to yourself by this act. Please, forgive your friends and walk towards fulfilling your next goal.

Finally, forgiveness is made possible by the Holy Spirit of God. To err is human, to forgive divine. You need the divine ability of God to forgive and forget all past misdeeds either by yourself or others. The Holy Spirit grants you the grace to forgive others; invite him into your heart and allow him take control of that situation. Please, do give Him a chance to enable you forgive and forget.

Expectation

Expectation is to hope for something. What are you currently expecting? I pray your Godly expectations will not be disappointed in Jesus name (Amen). However, for your expectation not to be disappointed, you have to do what God says you should do. You have to live your life according to His dictates. You have to ensure that you do the things that please Him.


You earnestly expect God to provide a new home for you, isn’t it? Have you done the things He asked you to do? Have you given out that part of your income to the hungry as He expects of you? Have you donated that old furniture to the less privileged? Have you paid your tithes? The things you expect will be fulfilled when you do the things God expects of you too. You will receive your heart desires when you consciously carry out the dictates of Him that can meet your expectations. You will dance for joy when you put a smile on the face of Him who is more than able to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.


Your expectation will only be met if you fulfil the expectations of Him that called you out of darkness into His marvellous light. Your expectation will never be cut off if you do the things on the mind of God.

The Yearnings of God

God yearns that man will live in a better world – a world devoid of hunger, strife, envy, poverty, restlessness, anger, bitterness, commotion, arguments and hatred.

Look at your own personal world now. Isn’t it filled with the above mentioned things? Is your world not reflecting the things that God does not want? Is your world radiating the glory of God? Is your world fulfilling the dictates of God? If it isn’t, what could be the reason?

My beloved, God yearns above all things that you live in a peaceful world created by your acts and attitudes. A world created by the positive confession of your mouth, a world inhabited by your graceful conversations, a world devoid of deceit and animosity towards fellow human beings, a world of love towards all. That’s the world God wants you to create by yourself.

This type of world is however impossible without the saving Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and your conscious effort to fulfil God’s yearnings. What will your own world turn out to be in the future? A world of strife or peace, poverty or prosperity, deceit or faithfulness, anger or patience?

God desires that you fulfil the yearnings of His heart. Will you obey or continue to live in your world of confusion? God expects you to make a major decision today by living to create a world He desires you to create for yourself and the coming generation.

Break Free From The Norm!

Accepting the status quo is a sign of defeat, a sign of laziness, a sign of backwardness and a sign of faithlessness. If Henry Ford has accepted the status quo, the six cylinder engine wouldn’t have been invented. The ‘status quo’ is an embargo enforcer, a yoke, a burden, a limitation upon the thoughts and actions of anyone who is caught in its web.

Many learned/educated people can limit your as a person – they quote relevant theories, experiments and conclusions backing up the fact that what you intend doing cannot be done. If you listen to them, you are done for! No man or woman is born limited – we are all limitless. Your own wits end might be the beginning of someone else’s knowledge.

I see myself as limitless – someone who has the ability to do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me. I can do anything as long as I put my heart to learn how to do it. I can achieve anything I desire once I set my heart to do it.

My friend, it is time for you to break free from the norm, from the limitations of others, from the restricting voices of others, from the limiting expectations of the society (family, friends, colleagues, superiors, etc) you find yourself in.

Stand up and break free from the NORM!
